Debt collection business Intrum Justitia has entered a joint venture with credit insurer Coface in France to collect debts from consumers.
The purpose is to jointly run a consumer collection business in the country, which is currently owned by French Coface subsidiary Coface Services. The joint venture will be based in Lyon and have 50 employees. Coface Services provides credit information and credit services.
"This alliance is in line with our growth strategy and gives us an excellent opportunity to further strengthening our position in the French market," said Lars Wollung, chief executive and president of Intrum Justitia.
"This strategic alliance allows us to even better meet market requirements for effective and innovative solutions. It will lead to improved anticipation of consumer payment behaviors and thus bring enhanced performance to our clients in debt collection services", added Pascal Labrue, regional managing director, Southern Europe.
